The Rutherford Tate Gibson Family Tree is up and growing!
About The Rutherford Tate Gibson Family
Hello, Family Member, and welcome to our official Family Tree website! This site shows the descendants of Mrs. Richard Augusta RUTHERFORD Tate Gibson, born 03 May, 1874 in North Carolina and died 30 December 1944 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.

She married Samuel Hill TATE on 23 February, 1891 in McDowell County, North Carolina. He was born 26 July, 1862 and died 09 June, 1903, both in McDowell? County, North Carolina. They had five children: Maude Helen TATE Goodrum, Thomas Oscar TATE, Melvin Columbus TATE, Berta Mae TATE Hurt, and Samuel Alexander TATE. As adults, the girls got married in New York, had families, and moved to Massachusetts, where they lived until they passed. The boys lived in, raised families, and died in Burke County, North Carolina.

After Samuel Hill's death, Richard married James Hardy GIBSON on 15 February, 1909 in Buncombe County, North Carolina. He was born in January 1868 in Buncombe County, North Carolina and died on 01 September, 1919 in Silver Creek, Burke County, North Carolina. They had five daughters: Josephine Harvey? GIBSON Phillips Kemp, Sarah (Sis) Agnes? GIBSON Bates, Katherine Ruth Lane GIBSON Drinkard Averett, Mary Elizabeth GIBSON Smith ? Younker, and Nancy Alfreda (Freda) GIBSON Ridley. As adults, all the girls ended up moving to Massachusetts, where each of them raised their families and passed on to a better place.

Eventually, this site will include the information for some of Richard's, Samuel Hill's and Hardy's families, too. This Family Tree is growing like a weed, so think real hard before deciding to buy birthday presents for EVERYONE! lol

A few things about the Family View:
The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The selected person's birth, death and marriage information is displayed. All spouses are listed either by marriage date or in the order they were entered (if marriage date is not present). The parents of the selected person are displayed on top. Only the most recent spouse/partner of parents is shown. The selected person's children are displayed at the bottom. Only the most recent spouse/partner of children is shown. If there are multiple spouses/partners, children from each spouse are grouped separately. Children are sorted by age (eldest to youngest).

(If you think a name is misspelled or a date or place is incorrect, please send a message stating so. We will compare documentation and make a decision based on the results.)
